Training Capacity Building Program

The Training Capacity Building Program designed by CM AHEC’s OWTI is offered to assist program developers in the creation and implementation of training events for CHWs and organizations employing CHWs.

We will offer you an exclusive opportunity to:

• Meet the OWTI participants
• Interact with the OWTI faculty members
• Interview the OWTI community collaborating partners
• Convene with the supervisors of the CHWs
• Discuss current challenges of the community health work force development

As the Capacity Building Program participants you will:

• Gain an understanding of the training program design, delivery method, and budget planning
• Learn effective ways of the course curriculum and materials development
• Determine basic steps for the faculty development
• Identify the ways for the participants enrollment, support, and educational and career advising
• Learn about the multi-tiered evaluation process and assessment tools
• Gain knowledge of the course credentialing for CHWs
• Understand the role of collaborations and partnerships
• Recognize the importance of incorporating the specific health and social service needs of the local communities into the program design
• Learn about the OWTI’s team-instructing educational model

The Capacity Building Program events
include the following types of interactive sessions:

• Study visits to the OWTI training events
• Consultations
